AJN Editor decries media treatment of nurses, asks nurses to speak out and boycott "ER"

August 2002 -- In her editorial "Invisible Nurses," American Journal of Nursing Editor-in-Chief Diana Mason, PhD, RN, FAAN, explains how nurses are ill-served by the media, and encourages nurses to write letters to the editor expressing their outrage. She also suggests that nurses boycott "ER" because of its damaging portrayal of nursing, and to tell the producers and sponsors why they have stopped watching it.
