Should we "take our loved ones to the doctor?"

We should take our loved ones to the health care provider, but not all providers are physicians. Nurse practitioners provide excellent care that most studies have found to be at least as good as that of physicians. We recommend that you consult your "health care provider," whether she is a physician or nurse practitioner.
