Barbara Chamberlain, RN, PhD, APN, MBA, CCRN, WCC

Barbara Chamberlain is the program manager for Transforming Care at the Bedside (TCAB NJ), a project managed by the Quality Institute and Patient Safety of the New Jersey Hospital Association and funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. In this position she assists staff nurses at the bedside make small changes to improve patient outcomes and patient and nurse satisfaction.

After completing undergraduate work at Gloucester County College (AAS), Glassboro State College (BA in school nursing), and Richard Stockton College (BSN), she received her MSN from the University of Pennsylvania and her PhD from Widener University. She received her MBA from Wilmington University.

Barbara has held positions as a staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist, and as an academic and clinical faculty member at the diploma, associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s levels of nursing education. She has served as the Director of Research and Development and the Corporate Director of Clinical Education in a multi-system acute care health system. She has served as an officer in the United States Air Force and is the immediate past president of the New Jersey State Nurses’ Association.

Barbara speaks locally, nationally, and internationally on a variety of healthcare topics including healthy workplaces and forensic nursing and is a member of several professional associations.
